Reality check
Aria is unusually convincing at the part many humanoid projects treat as secondary: face, gaze, expression and conversation. Physical capability is much narrower. The current platform is built for social interaction and presentation rather than walking around a home or doing household jobs.
What the evidence supports
These rows deliberately separate a current specification, a public demonstration and a seller's claim. We will tighten the labels as independent testing improves.
| Capability | Status | What we know |
|---|---|---|
| Natural conversation | Demonstrated | Realbotix publicly demonstrated Aria and David holding an autonomous multilingual conversation at CES 2026. |
| Face and emotion sensing | Maker-verified | Realbotix describes eye-mounted vision for tracking people, recognising faces and interpreting facial cues. |
| Persistent recognition | Claimed / deployed | The company's vision system is described as remembering faces; independent long-duration testing is limited. |
| Human-like expression | Demonstrated | Facial expression and eye movement are core strengths of the platform. |
| Walks around the home | No | The social humanoid format should not be confused with a general-purpose biped. |
| UK retail purchase | No | Current route is a sales enquiry rather than a normal UK consumer checkout. |
